We are recruiting on behalf of our client who are an external facades contractor based in Hampshire for a Design Manager.

They have experience in a wide variety of systems from SFS, Windows, Doors & Curtain walling, specialist roofing and all forms of Cladding .

 Using state of the art technology and design systems they can respond quickly to the needs of clients producing high-quality computer-generated drawing layouts and details. 
Design is undertaken in-house and through an approved network of design houses, therefore providing  clients with an integrated design and detailing service ensuring single source responsibility for design and supply of the façade. Working for main contractors, project management companies and architects they have established a strong reputation for first class service and reliability. 

The main duties of the role are as follows:  

  •  Managing the design team. (Internal, External or combination of the two)
  •  Managing the design process using his/her commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise.
  • Supporting, understanding, and advising the client as to the requirements and his/her obligations in the development of a building design.
  • Encouraging and inspiring designers to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources, and talents in a cost-effective way.
  • Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, where appropriate.
  • Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
  • Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
